At Cesar’s Killer Margaritas in Lakeview, Chicago, we pride ourselves on using only the best ingredients and our mezcal drinks are no different. Take for example our signature Mezcalitas, a distinctive and memorable taste experience due to mezcal’s spicy smoky flavor derived from roasting agave hearts (piñas) in underground pits. Like its cousin tequila, mezcal retains the natural sweetness of the agave plant, which provides a pleasant contrast to the smoky notes, balancing out the overall flavor profile of the drink.
When it comes to our signature Mezcalita drinks, we use only Dos Hombres Mezcal, a unique blend of the best EspadĂn agave, hand-picked from the hillsides of Oaxaca, Mexico, fermented and distilled by a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero.

Dos Hombres Mezcal is a brand founded by Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston of the hit TV series Breaking Bad, in which they played Jesse Pinkman and Walter White (aka Heisenberg).

This place knocked our socks off and we still haven’t been able to put them back on. We were originally seated at the bar, where it was quite crowded. And then Juan pulled us aside and asked if we’d like a table after seeing it was a bit tight. Juan introduced himself and took the time to talk to us, as well as brought out multiple margarita flavors for us to try. We got the elotes to start, followed by the fajitas and super burrito. Food was delicious and fresh. Service was immaculate. And Juan was amazing, no wonder he has been there 22 years! Highly recommend for casual Mexican.
